I met fellow wedding photographer Anne Herndon through an online photography community when she posted that she and her husband would be road-tripping out west to shoot a wedding and spend some time in Yellowstone. It seemed like an awesome opportunity to connect with some cool new people, so Dylan and I headed into the park for the afternoon.
Side note: I totally checked out Anne's social media before jumping at the opportunity because the internet can be a scary place, yo. But as soon as I saw the photos of their adorable Huskey pup and their goats, I figured they were totally legit. They were.
As an introvert, it's always a little unnerving/awkward/insert uncomfortable adjective here to just dive into things like this: social events can be overwhelming, engaging for long periods of time can be exhausting, and sometimes you just don't click. These things used to cross my mind all the time and I said "no" to a lot of things I probably should have said "yes" to. Fortunately, I've had so many more good experiences than bad and it's getting so much easier to leap first, in large part because of people like Anne and Matt.
These two were so easy to click with right off the bat: friendly, funny, and down-to-earth. Dylan and Matt spent the afternoon swapping hunting stories while Anne and I bonded over the challenges of having a full-time non-photography job in addition to a full photography calendar. We swapped a few photos (much to the guys' chagrin, but they were such good sports!) and enjoyed a beautiful evening in one of the most beautiful places.
Scroll on through for a few highlights: these two are such naturals! And if you ever find yourself in or around Missouri and in need of a fabulous and fun photographer, get ahold of Anne (Images By Annie)!
